210/366: the moment
I've been working since I was a teenager. I'm always amazed at the feeling of lightness that comes over me when I slide that card down the slot at the end of my shift. The change is so palpable that I can almost see the weight falling off of my shoulders.

209/366: adjustment
Had to head to the studio after work to document a few works from 2005. One of my gallerist's clients has some interest in earlier paintings that I don't have digital images of, so I spent a couple of hours tonight working on them.

205/366: glued
Stage 17, won by Carlos Sastre, of Team CSC.
On most mornings and/or evenings in July, I'm glued to the tv, watching guys ride for more than 100 miles for almost three weeks on bikes that cost enough to wipe out the rest of my school loan debt. A feat that can be done with just one of frames, not including the components.
The Tour is the onlyl sporting event outside of hte Olympics, that I'll watch religiously. Lucky for me, my wife also follows the Tour. I'm not inflexible. Tonight, we switched back and forth between the Tour and Project Runway.
The tour has been pretty good, despite the cloud of illegal doping that has followed the race again this year. So far, three riders have been arrested and suspended from the race, with one team, Saunier Duval, leaving the Tour after it's leading rider, Riccardo Ricco, was arrested after a new form of EPO was found in his bloodstream.
The doping is a real problem and at least more people are being caught these days. It takes a little away from the sport, but it hasn't really dampened my enthusiasm for watching the race. Cycling at this level is miles away from the daily realities of bike commuters and recreational riders, but I find something inspiring in it.
Some thoughts from Chris Carmicheal, Lance Armstrong's trainer for 15 years.

203/366: 5ive
I don't wear this shirt often. When I do, I'm reminded of why I don't: it reminds me of t-shirts I wore as a kid. That's probably not a good thing when you're a few decades beyond the third grade ;P

201/366: night watering
My housemate is away for a number of days, so I'm looking after the mini-garden in the mini-yard.
I like watering the plants. There's something about the activity that's soothing. Unfortunately, it can be wasteful when I drift off with my thoughts...

200/366: miki and me
Miki is officially he 2nd lady of the house. We felt that Sydney, our first cat, needed another feline commpanion to play with and to focus some of his rambunctious energy on.
Miki is a few months older than Sydney and is a beautiful cat.

197/366: tuesday sun
I'm beginning to repeat myself with some of these closeups, but at least there's something different about each one that I do when, like today, I didn't have time nor the inclination to figure out something else to do.

195/366: the changing
It's too hot to walk to work in my jeans and regualar shirt, so I wind up changing out of my tank top and shorts when I get there.

194/366: towson lounging
Today, I was at Towson University, just outside the northern edge of Baltimore for the opening reception for an exhibition I have work in. Titled, Philadelphia meets Baltimore: Conceptions and Perceptions, the exhibition is located in the Center for the Arts Gallery and is on view until August 8th, 2008. More information here

191/366: wtf?!?
Not really, this is just one of the few expressions I tried out this morning before I got started at work.
I did frown a lot when I was a teenager. So much so that I thought that I'd have etched permanent lines in my face by now.
In contrast to this photo, I had a pretty good day and got home just before the big storm that's happening right now broke.

186/366: two
I had another shot for today's "365" but I managed to delete it by mistake and I was only left with a couple of shoe-gazing shots, which this is one of.
This is what happens when you think you'll wind up taking another shot but get caught up in conversations and drinking with friends...well, this is what I wound up with, anyway...

This was a quickie. I wasn't feeling that well, having come down with something of a summer cold during the day. It was mainly congestion and sneezing, but enough to make me not feel like doing much.

183/366: between work and a ride
Home for a little bit before heading out for a night ride on the bike.
On the way home, I got caught in a small rain storm while going along the Ben Franklin Parkway after going up to Falls Bridge. Once I got half way through center city, the streets were dry, as was I by the time I arrived back home.
